I like to make my own holiday ornaments every year. It adds a special touch to the holiday season, and each year as you add them to the tree, those handmade ornaments just have so much more meaning then the store-bought ones. This year our ornaments theme was Swiss Gingerbread Bird Houses. As always I tried to be as eco-friendly as possible, using felt made from recycled plastic bottles!
So let’s get started with this how to:
I spend allot of time looking through Etsy shops, and there are all different kinds. The extraordinary, the unusual, the whimsical, and the terrifying. It’s rare though for a shop to bring a huge grin to my face; which is exactly what happened when I looked around Judy The Jazz Cat’s Etsy shop. You’ll find an assortment of whimsically up-cycled goods like vintage luggage, jewelry boxes, and vintage sign letters; which have been altered with brightly colored petal designs. Her up-cycled train cases make me long for exotic journeys to far off destinations and days spent elegantly traveling by train.
I find myself thinking of times long ago and things far away, but it’s fall and that usually where my mind goes. These three Treasuries were inspired by my thoughts of the past. I hope you enjoy them!
