Charlotte Home A Rama Post 5: The River Cottage By Evans Coghill Homes

This Modern American Farmhouse is a classically beautiful space, and is following one of the major trends this year, being a right sized homes. Homes that still provide plenty of space for a family and entertaining, while cutting out some of the more exotic and rarely used spaces like wine grotto’s and guest homes that have been seen in previous Home A Rama’s. The floor plan of the house was the biggest selling feature for me, with it’s large great room and beautiful downstairs master bedroom.

Downstairs Floorplan

Upstairs Floorplan

The front porch was set off by a beautiful red lacquer swing.

The front porch has a simple table and chairs, great for drinking a cup off coffee while you watch the neighborhood go by.

The foyer was set off by these large wooden doors, that were beautifully complimented by the color of the hutch.

The study is very simple and serves as a library with plenty of shelving.

I love the coffered ceiling in the library.

The large kitchen was a wonderful combination of textures from granite to slate, wood, and steel.

The floor-plan is very open with seating on the opposite side of the kitchen island.

The kitchen cabinets are beautiful with glass doors and thick decorative moldings.

The living room is quite modern, with a mix of neutral fabrics, with interesting textures.

The fireplace was set off by two large flower arrangements and a large painting in neutral co-coordinating colors.

The large covered patio area is floored with tinted stamped concrete, in a woodgrain floor pattern.

Outside dining area.

The master bedroom is modern and simple in rich masculine colors.

This work area is set off from the master bedroom, and can be closed of with the pocket doors. There are two desks one on either end of this work niche.

The master bedroom has a large double sink, and walk in shower.

The master bathrooms walk in shower is very deep, so there is no need for a door.

The girls bathroom was very simple, white with aqua and tan highlights.

The delicate blues and greens of the girls bedroom are set of beautifully by the heavy white Victorian inspired furniture.

There was a small work area in the girls bedroom.

Here is the boys or guestroom, yes that is a taxidermy raccoon sitting on the bed, and no I don’t know what they were going for.

The loft has a small work area.

The loft is a good size, with a large flat screen tv on one wall, and three chairs on the other.

Charlotte Home A Rama Post 4: SH Designer Collection by True Custom Homes

The Taylor, created by the firm of True Custom Homes, is a simple classic house with clean modern lines. The exterior invokes the classic style and elegance found in traditional Early American, and European homes.  While the interior is an eclectic mix between Burberry and modern safari. Take a look, I think you’ll love it!

The Dining Room was modern and simple, with the clean black and white photography echoed in the shape of the dining room chairs.

The Butlers Pantry was extremely elegant with cream walls, white subway tiles, and light wood cabinets, as well a wine fridge.

The Study at the front of the house was warm and really felt like classic Burberry.

Classic Study

The large living room had a very eclectic feeling to it.

The large great room, was given a feeling of even more space because of the vaulted ceiling and tall windows.

Charlotte Home A Rama Post 3: David Weekley Homes

Home A Rama this year was incredible, and I am so happy to bring you pictures from each of the amazing houses featured. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any professionally taken photos for the David Weekley home, so your going to have to put up with my blurry images, but even with the blurriness the absolute beauty of this Victorian Farm house is still apparent! The most amazing part of this home was the built ins, from the heavy railings on the staircase, and built-in bookshelves, to the incredible leaded glass hutch in the kitchen you can tell that this company knows where their strengths are.

Large front porch with painted concrete floors, pale blue painted ceilings and beautiful seating areas.

Another side of the wrap around front porch, there was even another entrance area that takes you straight into the mud room.

The entryway is complimented by the incredible dark wood, iron, and glass door with motifs that are set off by the interior wood bench.

Another view of the foyer.

The  dining room was one of my favorite spaces in the house. It’s rustic, warm, earthy, and extremely elegant. The tall windows brought in so much light, which was set off by the soft lights coming from behind the molding in the ceiling tray.

The flowers and gourds lent an amazing autumnal feel, but the room could still easily be changed with the seasons.

This beautiful bathroom set under the stairs has a strong vintage feel with a black and white octagonal tile floor, subway tile chair rail, and pub green walls.  So sorry for the blurriness

The beautiful country kitchen, had an incredible amount of storage in both the pantry, as well as in the large cabinets.

The chalk board paint goes all the way around the pantry, I love this for easy organization, for more then just your wine, no more can your husband tell you he can’t find something.

Beautifully upholstered chair in the study.

Outdoor Seating Area

Hallway to master bedroom, mud-room, and porch.

The master bedroom was a mix of red, khaki, and black it was very modern and elegant.

The large master bath was really pretty, but I would get killed trying to get in and out of the tub, but no worry there is a surprise on the private patio of the bathroom.

Oh yes it’s a private jacuzzi of the master bathroom!

Beautiful built in on the staircase landing, I love the pub green backing.

I loved how they set up the loft for tons of activity, there was a large tv on the wall with a Wii, off this room is an amazing movie theater.

The first bedroom was simple with an ocean theme, I liked that it was gender neutral, not something you often see in model houses. I do have to say this, someone should have caught the picture of the Harp Seal with a paddle under it, just kind of tasteless though I am sure it was an accident.

The little girls nursery was decadently pink, with beautiful airy curtains and heavy cherry wooden furniture.

Charlotte Home A Rama 2011 Post 2: Cyras Custom Homes

House 1 at Home A Rama was a beautiful modern update on a country cottage. It had the luxurious lines of vintage Hollywood with all the sweetness of a small home. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
